BEIJING, Jan.3 (Xinhua) -- The purchasing managers' index for China's manufacturing sector stood at 50.2 in December of 2019, unchanged from November, the National Bureau of Statistics said Tuesday.
A reading above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below it reflects contraction.
It was the second straight month that the PMI reading stayed above 50. The gauge re-entered the expansion zone in November, the first time since May 2019.
