BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) expected the country's secondary industry to record steady development throughout the year of 2019, at a work meeting held Monday in Beijing.

The ministry estimated that the country's value added of industrial enterprises above designated size, an important economic indicator, will likely to increase about 5.6 percent in 2019, and the energy consumption per unit of industrial added value will decrease about three percent.
