BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) expected the country's secondary industry to record steady development throughout the year of 2019, at a work meeting held Monday in Beijing.
The ministry estimated that the country's value added of industrial enterprises above designated size, an important economic indicator, will likely to increase about 5.6 percent in 2019, and the energy consumption per unit of industrial added value will decrease about three percent.
The revenue from the software and information technology services is expected to grow by 15 percent and that from Internet industry to surge by 20 percent, while the scale of telecommunications business is projected to increase by 20 percent, predicted by the ministry.
At the meeting, the ministry also proposed that in 2020, China will focus on stabilizing investment in the manufacturing sector, and guiding more capital to the areas such as advanced manufacturing and infrastructure.
In addition, it was specified that next year, the country will select and cultivate four new national manufacturing innovation centers, deepen technological innovation and industrial applications in artificial intelligence (AI), block chain, Internet of Things (IoT) and big data, and promote development of digital economy.
