Beijing boosts cultural consumption for economic growth

December 17, 2019

Abstract : Beijing further boosted cultural consumption during the 2019 Beijing Cultural Consumption Season and released a brand list on Monday.

BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Beijing further boosted cultural consumption during the 2019 Beijing Cultural Consumption Season and released a brand list on Monday.

Themed "enjoy culture, enjoy life," the 2019 Beijing Cultural Consumption Season lasted for two months from July 31, with direct spending of over 11.8 billion yuan (about 1.69 billion U.S. dollars).

During the season, the 2019 Beijing Cultural Consumption Brand List was released, which is divided into five categories including cultural products, cultural travel routes, consumption landmarks, sports festivals and performance activities.

Fifty brands including the cultural products of auspicious animals in the Forbidden City, a mobile game named Perfect World, and the 2019 Beijing Design Week are on the list.

The brands on the list fully demonstrate Beijing's rich identity as a national cultural center, as well as a city with a long history and rising innovation, according to one of the sponsors, the Beijing state-owned cultural assets management center.
