BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Lianyungang Section of China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone issued 28 new measures at a cooperation promotion conference held on Sunday, which will all be implemented on a trial basis from January 1, 2020.

According to the new measures, Lianyungang will arrange a special fund of 10 billion yuan to build an integrated transportation system and form unique multimodal transport channels, which imposes vigorous advancement of the construction of major facilities in ports, international train lines, and sea routes.
The Lianyungang section will also encourage institutions specialized in Internet economy and new scientific research institutions to settle in, support the industrialization of scientific research results, and accompany the development of strategic emerging industries and modern service industries. Other measures include setting up a Belt and Road enterprise legal service group and simplifying customs formalities for people and enterprises going abroad.
At the conference, 16 projects with a total investment of 15.4 billion yuan were unveiled to start construction in the Lianyungang section, announced by the management committee of the section which was officially set up on the same day.

In addition, after the first batch of 10 innovation practice cases were released in Beijing on October 18, the section released the second batch of six innovation practice cases at the conference, including the commitment system for the production licenses of low-risk food, intelligent taxation service, online credit repair service, supervision of inventory sorted by goods status, etc.
The Jiangsu pilot FTZ was approved to be established by the State Council on August 2, 2019, and the Lianyungang Section of the FTZ was officially unveiled on August 30.
With a total area of 20.27 square kilometers, the section has strategic tasks of building a Eurasian international transportation hub and a platform for exchanges and cooperation among Belt and Road countries.
According to the introduction at the conference, since the section was launched, Lianyungang has attracted 1,000 new market players, and 16 projects including the one with China Rundong Auto Group Limited, with the actual use of foreign capital reaching 52 million U.S. dollars.
