BEIJING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese automobile manufacturer Chery made its debut Tuesday at the 4th Saudi International Motor Show (SIMS) in Jeddah, putting its five hit models, the Tiggo8, Arrizo6, Tiggo7, Tiggo2 and Arrizo3 on display at Saudi Arabia's longest running automotive event.
"Saudi Arabia is one of Chery's most important strategic markets", said Yuan Ming, deputy general manager of Chery Middle East, noting that Chery has long focused on the needs of Saudi users, and has been constantly optimizing and upgrading its products, services, and experience.
On site, the all-black Tiggo8 SUV took centre stage, wooing Saudi customers with tailor-made seven-seat family design that came in larger-than-peering-model body dimension of 4,700mm*1,860mm*1,746mm and a super truck space of 1,930L.
As a representative of Chery's brand new models, Tiggo8 is based on the company's international T1X platform, featuring configuration of 2.0T engine and 9CVT gearbox and added with stylish touches of former BMW designer Kevin Rice such as the trans-body fretwork LED tail lamps and the environmental, floating and spacious interior design.
More importantly, it is learned that the Tiggo8 model attaches greater importance to safety with performance in C-NACP collision test being up to five-star safety standard.
The Arrizo6 is another eye-catching model with upgrades such as smart bracelets, electric seats, blind spot monitoring, and LED headlights. Particularly, the Chery staff demonstrated some appealing functions of the smart bracelets such as keyless entry and power-on of the vehicle, remote control of window, vehicle locking and unlocking as well as trunk opening.
"Chery's future lies in its intimacy with the market and consumers", said the Chairman Sheik Said Al Yemni of Yemni Group when talking about the future of Chery in the country.
It is noted that the 2020-version top-end Tiggo8 is priced at 77,777 Saudi Riyals and Arrizo6 flagship version is priced at 61,720 Saudi Riyals. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
