China National Salt Industry Group (CNSIG), the leading and the only state-owned enterprise of China's salt industry, actively participated in the Belt and Road (B&R) construction in 2018, according to the 2018 corporate social responsibility report released by the group on November 29.
-- On August 6, a delegation led by Eniya Listiani Dewi, deputy chairperson of Indonesia's Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology and head of the country's salt makers, visited CNSIG. The two sides exchanged ideas on issues concerning the main business, production scale and structure of salt products, with preliminary consensus reached on cooperation in relevant fields.
-- On September 2, Li Yaoqiang, chairman of CNSIG, met with Macky Sall, president of Senegal. The two sides held in-depth communications and exchanges on the joint project referred to as the Salt of Africa. CNSIG will help Senegal provider quality salt and meet the needs of the domestic market and the markets of neighboring countries.
-- During the inaugural China International Import Expo (CIIE) on November 7, the centralized procurement signing ceremony of the sub-group composed of secondary enterprises under CNSIG was held in Shanghai, with suppliers from all over the world attending the event. The group vowed to further explore international cooperation and expand its business in a broader market.
