ISLAMABAD, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- The 5th China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Media Forum was held on November 22 in Islamabad, capital of the Islamic Republic Pakistan.
Co-hosted by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Pakistan-China Institute, the forum attracted about 150 media professionals and government officials from China and Pakistan attended the conference, sharing their insights about the further cooperation between the media institutions of the two countries.
Yao Jing, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, set a high value on the positive effects of China-Pakistan media cooperation in his speech and encouraged the media of the two countries to redouble their efforts to create a suitable environment for the construction of the CPEC.
The construction of the CPEC had changed Pakistan's national image and brought tangible benefits to the Pakistani people, according to Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate of Pakistan.
Chinese media professionals present at the forum said that the media of China and Pakistan should accurately grasp the contemporary value of the CPEC in promoting economic and social development, improving people's livelihood, and deepen the people-to-people bond between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Pakistani media professionals made remarks at the forum that the Pakistani government and people would support the construction of the CPEC, hoping that the media institutions between the two countries would further strengthen their cooperation in the future.
First held in 2015, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Media Forum has been held successfully for five consecutive years so far, which is aimed to deepen media exchange between China and Pakistan. (Edited by Jiang Feifan)
