InfoQuest, (October 21, 2019) -- The first batch of subsidies will be distributed to rubber farmers participating in the income guarantee program on November 1, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit.
"Personally, I think the amount of the subsidies will hit a historical record, because this will be the first time the government distributes subsidies of six phases in two months", Mr. Jurin said.
The program will provide income guarantee to rubber farmers and differential subsidies to low rubber prices hit by the global economy. After the approval of the cabinet, the distribution of the first batch of subsidies will be accelerated from November 1 to 15, 2019.
In the process of granting subsidies to rubber farmers, staff will go to investigate whether rubber trees are planted and the latex is harvested in rubber plantations, as well as whether the processed products are cup lump, sheet rubber or fresh latex. The Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) has already drawn up procedures for investigating rubber plantations.
