MILAN, Oct 18 (Class Editori) - Evergrande electric cars will be designed by Pininfarina. The Italian brand has signed a strategic agreement for the development of the design of a new range of vehicles with the Chinese real estate giant, long focused on expanding its activities to mobility.
This initiative joins the current contract with the aim of designing and developing together new products with a strong character, able to express an advanced and original design, focusing on the excellence of Pininfarina in the development of complete vehicles and its capabilities of research in synergy with Evergrande resources.
“The purpose of our collaboration is for Evergrande to become the most innovative, competitive and sustainable new energy vehicle manufacturer in the world,” explained Hui Jiayin, also known by the Cantonese name of Hui Kayan. “We cannot think of a better partner by Pininfarina to design a new range of beautiful and innovative models for the automotive brand Hengchi. Together we will explore the future expansion of our collaboration beyond this agreement.”

In recent weeks, the president of Evergrande and his team had visited the Pininfarina headquarters in Cambiano (Turin), meeting with president Paolo Pininfarina, Silvio Angori and top management members.
The real estate giant, listed and with profits of more than 70 billion yuan (8.9 billion euros) in 2018, is shifting its focus to the electric car sector. In the first half of the year it has already made investments of over 2 billion dollars and others will arrive in the coming months. The latest agreements are therefore part of the ambition to become the largest Nev company in the world within the next three to five years and reach the production and sale of 5 million vehicles in ten years.
