BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- The 2nd International Green Energy Development Conference (Yangzhong, China) is going to kick off on October 16 in Yangzhong, east China's Jiangsu province, according to a press conference on Tuesday.
The conference is co-hosted by China Economic Information Service (CEIS), China Photovoltaic Industry Association, Renewable Energy Specialized Committee of China Energy Research Society, local government, among other institutions.
Themed on "global green energy application and urban high-quality development", the conference will witness the attendance of about 550 officials, experts, enterprises and media institutions, who will discuss the latest technologies and practices of green energy industry, the opportunities on global green energy cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, and the prospect of the industry at the major summit and the three sessions of the conference.
It is noted that CEIS will release the Global Green Energy Application Development Report (2018-2019) at the conference. The report will focus on the hot issues of green energy industry, present typical cases of green energy industry development, and propose new measures on accelerating the application of green energy in China.
Yangzhong, an island city in the lower reach of Yangtze River, is setting a good example for the urban transformation towards green development and ecological civilization construction. As of today, the scale of Yangzhong's new energy industry has reached 14 billion yuan. (Edited by Su Dan)
