Thai Prime Minister and Defense Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha chaired an economic cabinet meeting in the morning on October 11, according to the Information Office of Chaeng Watthana Government Complex. The meeting covered three agendas. The first agenda is to gain a picture of the economic situation. Second, the meeting discussed solutions to address obstacles Thai tourism is facing. The third agenda is to know the exports. The Ministry of Commerce briefed on the latest export situation and relevant measures to stimulate exports for the rest of this year.
In addition, the meeting also discussed the resumption of negotiations on the Thailand-EU free trade agreement. Currently, the research results and opinions of all parties are being collected, in order to serve as a reference for the resumption work. The work is expected to be completed between November and December 2019.
After the meeting, in the afternoon, Mr. Prayut and his delegation went to Ubon to inspect works including post-disaster recovery, reconstruction, ponding treatment, house repair and other matters concerned with public interests, and visited the flood victims.
