InfoQuest (October 08, 2019) -- Thai Energy Minister Sonthirat Sonthisajirawong revealed that the Ministry of Energy is formulating a plan to promote the use of electric vehicle (EV), aiming to resolve PM2.5 problem. It is estimated that the plan will be worked out by the end of 2019.
Measures in the plan will cover all possible aspects. Particularly, in terms of battery, the core part of EV, the objective is to grow Thailand into a battery production base in ASEAN. Efforts will also be made to develop charging station, charging head, EV, electricity utilization of EV industry, and other relevant fields. It is reckoned that the industry will undergo changes in the coming five years since 2020.
Currently, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), which Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) affiliated to, has submitted a preliminary listing plan. For that, the Ministry of Energy has offered relevant comments. Before going public, OR will formulate measures to meet the state's demands for energy security and stronger economic fundamentals, and a plan to grow itself into a leading player in foreign markets.
