URUMQI, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- China-Europe freight trains carrying 576 imported whole cars have passed through Horgos pass in northwest China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region during the National Dat holiday from October 1 to 7, according to the local customs at Horgos pass.
The freight trains departed from Bremen port in Germany on September 27, will arrive in China through countries such as Russia, Poland, and Belarus in ten days.
A local custom service company revealed that the tranportation time for imported cars carried by the freight trains had shortened to 15 days, and the company plans to import 15,000 whole cars through the freight trains next year.
The Horgos customs supervised a total of 7,992 standard containers carrying more than 91,000 tonnes (tons) of cargoes during the period, of which 7,246 containers carrying 84,000 tonnes (tons) of loads were shipped out of China, according to the local customs.
Meanwhile, specific offices for the freight trains operating 24-hour customs clearance services were set up at Horgos pass, to ensure the trains to complete customs clearance within a day upon its arrival.
Bordering with Kazakhstan, Horgos pass is a significant inland pass in Xinjiang, which is one of the closet and most convenient ports for China to connect with central Asia, western Asia, and Europe. (Edited by Jiang Feifan)
