BEIJING, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese online payment clearinghouse NetsUnion Clearing Corporation reported surging daily transactions during the just-concluded National Day holiday.
Daily transactions rose 79.92 percent year on year during the Oct. 1-Oct. 7 period, while daily transaction volume skyrocketed 163.38 percent over one year ago, according to the company.
The first day of the week-long holiday saw 1.29 billion transactions, the highest among the seven days.
A total of 8.594 billion transactions were processed by the platform during the past week, involving 4.33 trillion yuan (about 607.2 billion U.S. dollars) in volume.
The country's two major third-party payment platforms WeChat Pay and Alipay all reported robust transactions during this period.
