BEIJING, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- China's Xinhua News Agency and Independent News Pakistan (INP) signed an agreement here Tuesday on launching Xinhua Pakistan Service.
According to the deal, INP will translate Xinhua English Service stories into Urdu and distribute the Xinhua Pakistan Service in Pakistan through its current news-releasing system.
Cai Mingzhao, president of Xinhua News Agency, said that the Xinhua Pakistan Service will help the Pakistani people have a timely and comprehensive understanding of China and provide a new bridge between the people of the two countries.
Syed Asif Salahuddin, editor-in-chief of INP, voiced his hope to build the Xinhua Pakistan Service into a multi-media one to better meet its clients' needs and help more Pakistani people know about the positive effects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
