XI'AN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- A China-Europe freight train loaded with 1,200 tonnes of apple juice concentrate from Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, headed for Moscow on Wednesday.
The whole trip will last about 12 days for the freight train named after Chang'an, the ancient name of Xi'an.
The juice is manufactured by a subsidiary of SDIC Zhonglu Fruit Juice Co., Ltd., which takes a lead in China's industry of concentrated juice, in Fuping County that is known for high-quality apple production.
"With the freight trains, we will increase the efficiency of transportation, lower the cost of logistics and better meet consumer needs," said Zhang Qi, who's in charge of Russian Hanappe Company's business in China.
"We plan to export 20,000 tonnes of concentrated apple juice to Russia by the end of this year," he added.
Chang'an China-Europe freight trains have made a total of 1,197 trips in the first eight months of 2019, according to China Railway Xi'an Group Co., Ltd.
