The meeting aims to accelerate the overall infrastructure investment

InfoQuest (Sept. 17, 2019) -- Kobsak Pootrakool, deputy secretary-general for political affairs attached to the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed that the economic minister council will hold a special meeting on September 20 to review issues of the Ministry of Transport. The meeting aims to accelerate the overall infrastructure investment through relevant procedures, rule simplification and budget allocation.

"Many promising projects get stuck in some procedures and thus cannot be pressed ahead. For example, the Office of the Council of State failed to pass the review and there was a problem in budget allocation. Next, efforts will be stepped up to help advance such projects", Mr. Kobsak said.

Mr. Kobsak said the government believes accelerating investment in infrastructure projects will help boost the flow of money into the national economy by the end of this year, helping Thailand reach its 3 percent growth target.

Measures to promote exports will not be discussed at this week's meeting as Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit is on a visit to China.
