MILAN, Sept. 11 (Class Editori) -- The Bologna-based startup Nextema was awarded the China Italy Best Startup Showcase & Entrepreneurship Competition 2018/2019, an award established by the cooperation between the Italian and Chinese governments to foster the development of interaction between the two countries.
In the past few months Nextema has been selected among the ten most interesting Italian startups and innovative SMEs and has participated in the Yangcheng competition, winning before a Sino-Italian jury composed for the Chinese side by prominent industrial and investment personalities and innovation and for the Italian one by Enrico Iaria, managing director of DooPlus Group (Shanghai) and Vincenzo Lipardi, managing director of Campania New Steel.
Nextema will therefore participate in the contest's final scheduled for the end of October in China, where the best startups selected during the three stages of the BSSEC 2019 will compete for the absolute primacy within the platform dedicated to mutual collaboration and interaction in the field of Innovation and Research, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).
The semi-final that took place in Yangcheng on the Advanced Production line showed Nextema's ability to confront itself with a very demanding and competitive context, such as the Chinese one, now tending to compete at a very high level on a global scale and attentive to very high content ideas of innovation, which can create tangible competitive advantages once on the market.
Nextema, a start-up established in October 2015, offers a variety of innovative technological services, including, in particular, the engineering and development of systems for the production of polymeric nanofibers/nanoparticles by electrospinning technology (electrospinning).
The materials thus produced are used in many sectors: ranging from filtration to structural reinforcement in composite materials, to the realization of biodegradable fabrics capable of effectively acting as carriers for the highly controlled release of active ingredients for the human body care, both in the cosmetic and medical fields.
The Bologna-based start-up also uses the laser technologies for the surface treatment of mechanical components in steel/cast iron, for example cams and gears; 3D printing services of metal materials using Laser Melting Systems (SLM/DMLS); design services for the set up, development, production and sale of systems for hardening treatments based on laser sources.
Finally, Nextema offers engineering services for production processes in the engineering sector using advanced numerical simulation techniques, in particular of components to be produced by foundry processes; development of monitoring systems and analysis of industrial process parameters.
The industrial sectors of reference are diversified and range from mechanical components to cosmetics, from pharmaceutical and biomedical to the design and manufacture of electrospinning machines, from nano-materials to metallurgy.
