BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- A total of 27 new projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) are expected to start by the end of the year, according to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) about the development of new phase under CPEC, reported yidaiyilu.com.gv recently.

The projects are involved with areas such as agricultural, industrial and education will be included in the new projects, which is an effort that will further enrich and expand the content and areas of the second-phase development of CPEC.

It is noted that Pakistan and China have made several efforts to support the construction of CPEC.

Specifically, an authority for carrying relevant matters of CPEC construction was established by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform of Pakistan on August 19, 2019, which will be the most effective in ensuring timely completion of the CPEC project, according to Imran Khan, Prime Minister with Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the National Development Council (NDC) of Pakistan also approved a statute about CPEC management to ensure the smooth implementation of the CPEC construction.

Besides, leaders of China and Pakistan have reached a consensus on solving issues for the construction of Gwadar deep seaport under CPEC, and the two sides will jointly push forward the construction progress.

It is noted that the two sides also agreed to construct special economic zones under the framework of CPEC. The construction of an economic zone is expected to start in September of the year. (Edited by Jiang Feifan)
