Rural e-commerce demand has rebounded slightly. The rural business volume index of e-commerce logistics was 127.6 points in August, up 1.4 points from the previous month, according to the survey.
But the main index, the e-commerce logistics index for August, came in at 111.3, down 0.2 points from a month earlier.
Of the nine sub-indexes, the total business volume index, rural business volume index, inventory turnover index, personnel index and actual load rate index rose in August, but the logistics timeliness index, satisfaction index and cost index fell last month, and the performance rate index was the same as the previous month.
Wang Wei, director of the Market Economy Research Institute of Development Research Center of the State Council, said the total business volume of e-commerce logistics and rural business volume have maintained high-speed growth of more than 25 percent.
From a regional point of view, the eastern region in August has provided strong support for the national total demand while the growth rate of rural business in the western and northeastern regions was about 30 percent, greatly contributing to the growth of rural business volume, Wang said.
