BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Central China's Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone (ZAEZ) of China and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) of Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of strategic cooperation between the two economic zones in Thailand recently, reported Henan Daily recently.
Under the MoU, the two parties will jointly establish cargo routes from U-tapao Airport in Thailand to Zhengzhou Airport, which will act as a dual hub to transport goods between Zhengzhou and Thailand and to promote aviation industry construction under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Meanwhile, the MoU also includes commitments by both parties to strengthen the development of aerotropolis, to further enhance the connectivity of the aviation industry between Zhengzhou and Thailand.
The signing of the MoU will play a crucial role in promoting the economic development of Zhengzhou and Thailand, according to the relevant person in charge of ZAEZ, adding that the ZAEZ will strive to encourage the development of the dual hub connecting Zhengzhou and U-tapao airport.
Known as China's leading aerotropolis, ZAEZ has prominent geographical advantages and convenient transportation, shipping various types of Thai goods such as fruits and medicines to Zhengzhou and the rest of China, and acting as a hub for electric information and e-commerce businesses, added the person in charge with ZAEZ.
Kanit Sangsubhan, secretary-general of the EEC office reveals that EEC will concentrate on developing emerging industries including bio-economy, intelligent electronics, aviation logistics, digital manufacturing, automation and robotics, as well as the medical center.
Kanit added the geographical advantages, investment environment, and preferential policies of the EEC to provide favorable cooperation opportunities and platforms for Chinese enterprises responding to the BRI, which brings confidence for the cooperation between the two parties.
