BEIJING, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese e-commerce giant Suning.com has released the sales results of its just-ended 818 shopping festival on Sunday. According to statistics, as of 18:00 PM on Sunday, the instant delivery service of around 6,000 convenient stores called Suning Xiaodian has reached 18 million customers' doorsteps in the country.
The best-selling brands of various categories during the shopping festival are also unveiled. For home appliances, Midea, Haier and Gree ranked the top three. The champion of smart digital products was Xiaomi, followed by Apple and Huawei. The three most popular liquor brands were Wuliangye, Moutai and Yanghe.
The changes that Suning brought in the retail format during the shopping spree are also worth noting.
For example, the time cost of buying a bottle of mineral water can be shortened to just one second in Suning's first digital visual unmanned shop launched on the same day of the spree in its headquarter Nanjing. The first Suning Jiwu flagship store, which is opened in early August in Wuxi, has ushered in the second wave of shopping peaks during the festival. On Sunday, the number of visitors entered the store reached 25,000 person-times, and the order conversion rate exceeded 13 percent. Also, the Suning Retail Cloud Stores in county markets reached 3,726, and have sold over 1 million products on that day.
Data show that the delivery time cost of Suning Logistics was on average 25 minutes in 13 major big cities, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Chengdu, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, and 37 minutes in 40 cities such as Urumqi, Nantong, Huizhou, and Kunming.
The speed of delivery is guaranteed by Suning's logistic capacity and constant technical innovation. At present, Suning Miao Da instant delivery service can reach the customers in the 17 minutes at its best, and its average delivery time in the "one-hour" service circle is 34 minutes. On August 17th, the 5G Wolong logistics unmanned delivery car realized the real road test for the first time. It was upgraded on the basis of another such kind of car which was launched in April 2018, according to the introduction of Ling Yunfei, director of Suning Logistics Group Logistics Research Institute.
