JINAN, July 30 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong Province recorded a GDP growth of 5.4 percent in the first half of the year, totaling about 4.18 trillion yuan (607.2 billion U.S. dollars), according to the provincial bureau of statistics.
The province saw retail sales totaling 1.68 trillion yuan, up 7.1 percent year on year in the past six months, according to a report released Monday on the bureau's website.
The province's foreign trade grew by 9.2 percent to 971.5 billion yuan. The half-year growth was 5.3 percentage points higher than the country's foreign trade growth over the period.
Shandong's high-tech manufacturing sectors, including intelligent consumer devices, electronics and biological pharmaceuticals continued to grow rapidly. In particular, the added value of the intelligent consumer devices industry posted a year-on-year growth of 22.9 percent.
The per capita disposable income of residents in Shandong was 16,159 yuan in the first half of the year, up 8 percent year on year.
