BEIJING, July 25 (Xinhua) -- East China's Anhui province reports a 16.3 percent year on year growth in the output value of its strategic emerging industry in the first six months, according to Anhui Daily.
The province's strategic emerging industry took up 35.1 percent of its industries above designated size and contributed to 72.7 percent of provincial industrial growth from January to June.
The achievements came as Anhui has further carried out innovation-driven development strategy since the start of 2019.
The emerging industry in the province's Chizhou, Bozhou and Suzhou city saw a respective rise of 35 percent, 25.6 percent and 25.1 percent year on year in the first half of this year.
New generation information technology, bio-industry, energy-saving and environmental protection sector, and digital industry of Anhui maintained rapid growth from January to June.
During the same period, the output value of its bio-industry, high-end equipment manufacturing, new generation information technology industry, energy-saving and environmental protection industry rose 21.4 percent, 14.4 percent, 21.4 percent, and 21.1 percent year on year.
To further promote the development of strategic emerging industries, Anhui will build a more effective technology mechanism to spark innovation of enterprises, introduce investment funds and other means to strengthen financial support for companies, and optimize public service platforms, according to Ruan Huabiao, deputy director of the forecast department of Anhui Provincial Economic Information Center.
