InfoQuest (July 22, 2019) - Mr. Thanakorn Tanthasit, secretary-general of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), said that NBTC plans to launch spectrum auction to boost 5G in Thailand. The auction will come in the form of multi band, namely the synchronous auction of multiband spectrums, and two auctions will be arranged.
Spectrums for the first auction include high frequency spectrums 26-28GHz, intermediate frequency spectrum 2600MHz, and low frequency spectrum 700MHz. Spectrums for the second auction include intermediate frequency spectrums 3400-3600MHz, and 1800 MHz. The auction plan has been submitted to the board of NBTC for approval, and to schedule the auctions.
The multi band auction plan is designed to lay a ground for the efforts of spreading 5G technology in Thailand.
