BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) – The first self-driving testing ground in Beijing at T5 level has been put into operation recently, reported Beijing Daily Monday.
It is noted that the testing ground is capable of carrying self-driving tests under complex traffic scenarios for vehicles, to apply for a higher level of self-driving license.
The testing ground is located in Yizhuang, southeast of Beijing, which is a national intelligent vehicle and smart transportation demonstration zone.
So far, Beijing has opened 44 of self-driving testing roads with total lengths of 123 kilometers, topping among other cities in China.
Meanwhile, Beijing has issued self-driving licenses for 65 vehicles of 11 enterprises. The road test for self-driving vehicles has been safely driven over 400,000 kilometers in Beijing. (Edited by Jiang Feifan)
