BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Changzhou, an industrial star city in East China's Jiangsu Province, is taking the development of industrial and energy Internet as a breakthrough in industrial transformation and upgrading.
The city has applauded the signing of 50 projects related to industrial and energy Internet during the 2019 World Industrial and Energy Internet Expo, which, held in Changzhou from June 20 to 22, attracted more than 20,000 audience and 77 exhibitors to showcase their applications and achievements in industrial and energy Internet including artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and big data, comprehensive solutions on industrial Internet of Things, communication interconnection and industrial Internet security, digital factory and energy Internet products.
"Changzhou will accelerate establishment and settlement of large platforms, create an ecosystem conductive to the development of industrial and energy Internet and promote the transformation and upgrading of small and medium-sized enterprises," said Zhu Zhihong, head of Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Changzhou.
As an important advanced manufacturing base in the Yangtze River Delta, Changzhou last year reported a 12.8 percent increase in the output value of its ten major industrial chains including new energy, intelligent manufacturing equipment, smart grid and new generation of information technology.
And it is expected that by 2020, Changzhou will form an advanced industrial Internet system in Jiangsu Province, with 10,000 enterprises and 100,000 units of industrial production facilities connected into the cloud platform for industrial Internet.
"In the future, Changzhou will form a model for the development of industrial and energy Internet, and the real economy of Changzhou will realize high-quality development," Zhu added. (Edited by Tong Wei, tongwei@xinhua.org)
