BEIJING, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in South China recently held a fair in Beijing, the capital city of China to seek investment and cooperation for its big data industry.
Project road show, face-to-face negotiation, and other activities were arranged to offer an effective matchmaking platform for enterprises to expand market, identify business opportunities, and seek cooperation. Big data companies from across the country showed strong interest in making investments in Guangxi.
Guangxi enjoys prime location, policy synergy, sound ecology, rich resources, and well-built transport facilities, and pays great importance to big data industry, noted Yang Jinbo, vice chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in his speech.
Guangxi issued a Plan for the Nanning Core Base of China-ASEAN Information Harbor (2019-2021), seeking to speed up cooperation in infrastructure information sharing, technical cooperation, trade and economic services, cultural exchanges, and other fields.
As a strategic player in building China-ASEAN Information Harbor, Guangxi will promoting projects investment with priority being given to infrastructure platform, information sharing platform, technical cooperation platform, trade and economic service platform, and cultural exchange platform, said Xi Yang, deputy secretary-general of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Nanning is the provincial capital of Guangxi, and the permanent host city of China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO). It has been billed as "Green City in China" and "A Cradle of Folk Songs", and won honors and titles like "United Nations Habitat Award", “National Civilized City” and "National Ecological Garden City",
Following the strategic plan of the central government and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and relying on the Nanning Core Base of China-ASEAN Information Harbor, Nanning is making great efforts in developing digital economy, and propelling quality economic and social development, noted Zhang Wenjun, member of the Standing Committee and executive vice mayor of Nanning City.
Nanning will intensify the building of the core base in four aspects such as information infrastructure as well as IT application, added Zhang.
Xu Yuchang, chairman and president of China Economic Information Service (CEIS) of Xinhua News Agency, said that Guangxi has made overall plans to promote the development of "digital Guangxi" and continuously increased investment in the digital industry.
The China-ASEAN (Nanning) financial service platform, established by the Guangxi government and China Economic Information Service of Xinhua News Agency, is attracting more and more domestic and foreign enterprises to invest and develop in Guangxi, added Xu.
HUAWEI, China's leading telecommunication company has been operating businesses in Guangxi for 30 years, and HUAWEI will take an active part in the development of "digital Guangxi" in the future, Shi Yaohong, vice president of HUAWEI made remark during the meeting.
During the fair, representatives from HUAWEI, ZTE, Inspur Group, Tencent and Sugon conducted roadshows for relevant big data projects.
A total of 119 projects were launched at the fair, with a total investment of more than 70 billion yuan, covering dozens of industry segments such as Beidou intelligence, smart city, high-end digital control, cross-border e-commerce, modern agriculture, electronic sports, film & animation, and unmanned driving.
The fair was organized by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, undertaken by the Guangxi Big Data Development Bureau, the Investment Promotion Agency of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Beijing Office of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and co-organized by the CEIS of Xinhua News Agency.
