BEIJING, June 19 (Xinhua) -- About 68 percent of orders for physical goods in China's social e-commerce platform Pinduoduo are contributed by buyers from the third-tier cities and below, statistics of Pinduoduo showed.
According to the e-commerce giant, nearly 70 percent of orders for agricultural products in the platform come from first and second-tier cities as of 24:00 June 17 .
In terms of age structure, post-80s and post-90s generations prove to be active buyers of the platform. By 24:00 of June 17, consumption value of these groups accounted for approximately 80 percent of total.
Founded in 2015, Pinduoduo is known for offering group buying deals with big discounts and enjoys a huge consumer base in rural areas and small cities.
