BEIJING, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The sales of JD.com from 0:00 on June 1 to 24:00 on June 18 amounted to 201.5 billion yuan (approximately 29.2 billion U.S. dollars), during the China's mid-year online shopping spree June 18 ("6/18") shopping festival, according to a report released Wednesday by the company, reflecting the accumulated influence of the shopping festival created by the e-commerce giant after 16 years of development.
From June 1 to June 18, the sales of sweeping robots, window cleaning equipment and other household cleaning products of more than 3,000 yuan performed brilliantly, up over 200 percent year on year. Especially, large-capacity dishwashers with sterilization, drying and ultra-fast washing functions are also highly sought after, with turnover increasing by 500 percent year on year.
In terms of mobile phones, eight out of the top 20 best-sellers' price exceeded 2,999 yuan, showing that the sales of high-end flagship mobile phones are gaining momentum upon the upgraded consumption level driven by the shopping festival.
As of 20:00 on June 18, the sales of mobile phones, books and beauty-products on the main station of Global.JD.com have increased respectively by 357 percent, 525 percent and 412 percent year on year.
At this year's "6/18" shopping festival, JD.com has shown strong logistics management capability. The orders proceeded by smart warehouses increased by 99 percent year on year, and the proportion of orders to be delivered the same or next day exceeded 91 percent, hitting a record high.
In addition, in terms of customer services, the staff of JD.com has dealt with more than 32 million times of consultation requests from June 1 to June 18, and has independently solved 90 percent of problems. (Edited by Li Wenxin, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
