BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- The oil field in the Mahu Area of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has reached a crude oil production capacity of 3,396 metric tons (tonnes) per day, with more than 150 horizontal wells, according to the PetroChina Xinjiang branch.
The PetroChina Xinjiang Oilfield Company said that as of the end of May, 2019, the crude oil production of the Mahu field has accumulated to 2.908 million tonnes. The company expects the oil production to reach 1.45 million tonnes in the whole year of 2019, based on the production from January to May, which was 494,300 tonnes.
The Mahu field is a one-billion-tonne reserve discovered in late 2017, and is under constant exploration. (Edited by Li Wenxin, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
