BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Construction on an automobile industrial park in Mianyang, southwest China’s Sichuan province, officially started on Tuesday, Sichuan Daily reported.
The park strives to build itself into a specialized automotive parts industrial base integrating the functions of production, study, research, industrial chain, incubator, etc.
With a total investment of 3 billion yuan, the project covers a planned construction area of 120,000 square meters.
Through more than three years of efforts, Mianyang has rolled out 15 auto industry projects with a total investment of about 50 billion yuan, and 90 percent of these projects belong to the field of new energy and smart cars.
After the above projects are completed and put into production in succession, the total output value of Mianyang's automobile industry was expected to reach 200 billion yuan in 2025, roughly 10-fold the figure for 2018. (Edited by Yang Yifan,yangyifan@xinhua.org)
