BEIJING, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Tilburg of the Netherlands recently held a ceremony celebrating the third-year anniversary of the Chengdu-Tilburg line, which witnessed the departure of the 750th train on the line.
Fully loaded with wine, beer, milk powder, auto parts and vehicles, the China Railway Express (CRE) departs from Brabant rail port of Tilburg, running through Germany, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and is expected to arrive at China’s Chengdu International Railway Terminal in 15 days.
It is meanwhile the 3,500th China-Europe freight train that departures from Chengdu.
Chengdu and Tilburg now boasts regular operation of six round trips of freight trains every week, said Roland Verbraak, general manager with Dutch logistics company GVT, noting that the China-Europe freight trains have brought the economic and trade relationship closer between China and the Netherlands.
The Chengdu-Tilburg line mostly carries electronic devices and aviation product accessories to Tilburg and be back with auto parts, car vehicles, milk powers and red wine. A total 20-million-U.S. dollar worth Europe red wine was exported to China via the China-Tilburg in 2018 which is expected to grow to 25 million U.S dollars in 2019.
