BEIJING, April 29 (Xinhua) -- The Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone has now formed a “1+1+7” system for actively participating in the Belt and Road (B&R) construction which combines a tier-one airport, the Zhengzhou Xinzheng comprehensive boned zone as well as a designated port for seven special goods including imported meat, live cattle, fruits, edible aquatic animals, chilled aquatic products, international mail transfer, Zhengzhou medicine imports.
Australian tuna, Chilean cherries, Spanish fashion wear, German beer, Dutch fresh cut flowers... a batch of special "passengers" are transferred from Zhengzhou through the "air Silk Road" to surrounding cities, and to Beijing, Chongqing and other major domestic cities.
In the meantime, mobile phones, electronic products, textiles and clothing, daily necessities and mechanical equipment from all over the country are gathered in Zhengzhou and distributed along the “air Silk Road” to all parts of the world.
The passenger throughput of Zhengzhou Xinzheng international airport ranked 12th in the country, with cargo and mail throughput ranking 7th in 2018. Imports and exports of Zhengzhou Xinzheng comprehensive bonded zone totaled 341.54 billion yuan last year, growing for seven consecutive years.
As China’s first comprehensive transportation hub that integrates high-speed railway, city rail, subway, expressway, long-distance bus, bus and taxi, the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone covers an area of 100 square kilometers with its Xinzheng airport’s freight capacity, number of cargo routes, flight volume and number of navigable cities all ranking the country’s fifth,leading Henan province open up further to the outside world.
