BEIJING, April 19 (Xinhua) -- The first quantum computing teaching machine for the masses in the world came into being in China on Tuesday, reported the Xinhua Daily.
It was developed by a research arm on quantum perception in Wuxi, a city in east China's Jiangsu Province, with more than two years of R&D work.
According to the research institute, compared with existing quantum computers, the machine, as large as a desktop, can operate in an atmospheric environment at room temperature, providing all-round support for cultivation of quantum engineers and cross-application talents.
Built on quantum physics, quantum computers can perform information processing and storage tasks that cannot be realized by traditional computers.
The birth of the quantum computing teaching machine will be also conducive to the development of the emerging quantum industry in Wuxi. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
