April 11, 2019

Abstract : With supportive policies to be launched in succession, China's electronic information industry is bound to embrace a new round of development opportunities, reported the Xinhua-run Economic Information Daily Thursday.

BEIJING, April 11 (Xinhua) -- With supportive policies to be launched in succession, China's electronic information industry is bound to embrace a new round of development opportunities, reported the Xinhua-run Economic Information Daily Thursday.

Priority would be given to improve the weak links in technology concerning the industry this year, said Wang Zhijun, China's Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, at a recently-held symposium on the electronic information industry.

Local authorities have also attached great importance to the industry. For instance, southwest China's Guizhou Province has proposed to put efforts in developing electronic components and materials and cultivating integrated circuit and new display industry.

East China's Jiangxi Province has put forward to forge advantageous fields with output value of each reaching hundreds of billions of yuan, such as mobile intelligent terminal, semiconductor lighting and printed circuit board.

Data from the China Electronic Information Industry Development Research Institute showed that the main business income of China's electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size hit 11.5 trillion yuan in 2018, while that of software and information technology services above designated size reached 6.3 trillion yuan.

The electronic information industry can serve as a crucial driver for industrial growth, said Feng Xiaohui, an official at the China Electronic Information Industry Development Research Institute, noting that the added value of the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size registered a 13.1-percent year-on-year growth in 2018.
