BEIJING, April 9 (Xinhua) -- China’s installed capacity of power battery increased 145 percent year on year and 127 percent month on month to 5.09 GWh in March, showed the statistics released by GGII on Monday.
In terms of vehicle classification, new energy passenger cars accounted for 4.1GWh of power battery installed capacity, passenger coaches for 0.67 GWh, and special vehicles for 0.32 GWh in March, up 166 percent, 49 percent and 266 percent year on year respectively.
Among the different types of power battery, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery, ternary battery, lithium titanate battery and lithium manganese acid battery reached 1.03 GWh, 3.64 GWh, 0.07 GWh and 16 MWh respectively, up 69 percent, 150 percent, 22 times and 229 percent.
With the launch of subsidy policy in 2019, car producers are swarming to install power batteries, which is predicted to bring a new peak in installed capacity, according to industry analysts. (Edited by Tong Wei, tongwei@xinhua.org)
