BEIJING, April 9 (Xinhua) -- The amount of foreign investment contracted by China's Hubei Free Trade Zone has reached 3.83 billion U.S. dollars as for February, 2019, with 2.96 billion U.S. dollars in actual use, accounting for 13.5 percent of the province's total, according to a press conference held by the local authorities of Hubei province on April 4.
The investment was attracted by 185 foreign-invested companies established in the free trade zone, among 25,622 enterprises which have gradually settled in, since the zone was officially launched in 2017, introduced Hu Zhonghai, the deputy general-director of the provincial Department of Commerce.
Hu also said that the value of imports and exports made by these foreign-invested companies has reached 200 billion yuan, accounting for 30.2 percent of the province's total trade value during the time period. (Edited by Li Wenxin, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
