Editor's note: China Economic Information Service (CEIS) and the Italian financial media giant Class Editori S.p.A. jointly launched the Italian version of Xinhua Silk Road to help enterprises of the two countries to strengthen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Class Editori CEO Paolo Panerai and chairman and president of CEIS Xu Yuchang have recently delivered their speeches, respectively, to express their confidence on this cooperation. The following are their speech videos.
The following is the speech delivered by Class Editori CEO Paolo Panerai
Mr Xu, President of CEIS - China Economic Information Service, told us how our initiative took shape. I would like to remind you that CEIS was created on a proposal from Deng Xiaoping in 1984. He suggested to establish an information system addressed to companies, within Xinhua News Agency, our partner and the biggest official state-run press agency of the People's Republic of China. The system is aimed to raise awareness among companies, because being informed is the only key to development. It was Deng Xiaoping’s opinion and we agree with it. The platform is already active, you can see it behind me. I believe it represents a very important service for both SMEs and large businesses. We have already received many subscription requests from large companies because the Belt & Road project offers many prompts and initiatives. If those are well-known, Italian companies can develop their businesses, establishing the ideal tie of culture and relationship among people always implicit in Chinese initiatives.
The following is the speech delivered by chairman and president of CEIS Xu Yuchang
The ancient Silk Road traces back more than 2,000 years, with Italy as a key link. It is fair to say that the Silk Road has enabled the friendly exchanges between Chinese and Italians. In the new era, since the Belt and Road was initiated, we have witnessed closer ties between us in investment, trade, and culture.
In order to enhance the friendly exchanges, China Economic Information Service (CEIS) and CLASS have joined hands to offer "Xinhua Silk Road" economic information service. On the one hand, they provide Italian enterprises with Chinese economic information; on the other hand, they provide Chinese enterprises with Italian economic information, so as to promote investment and trade cooperation between Chinese and Italian enterprises. We have learned that such services are well received among these enterprises.
So, on behalf of CEIS, my thanks should go to CLASS for their professional and effective work. I am confident that under the Belt and Road Initiative, our cooperation will bring to enterprises of the two countries more and better investment and trade opportunities.
