BEIJING, March 27 (Xinhua) -- As the list of allocation of funds for China's 2019 national key R&D program is increasingly clear, the strategic emerging industries become a priority of the program, the Economic Information Daily reported Wednesday quoting China's Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).
According to MOST, so far, 41 special projects covering social development, high-tech, agroforestry science and technology and basic research have been unveiled in this year's application guides and draft solicitations for the program, involving a total value of 7.25 billion yuan.
Among the 35 released application guides and draft solicitations, 11 special projects are newly-set up, seven of which are targeting emerging industries like high-tech manufacturing, renewable energy, Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G.
Quickening the development of emerging industries by furthering related R&D, cultivating industrial clusters and pushing for “Internet +” in various fields was also highlighted in this year's government work report.
Apart from emerging industries, big increase in R&D input has also been seen in food safety, medicine and health as well as environmental protection this year, noted the report. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
