InfoQuest (March 19, 2019) -- Mr. Srisuwan Chanya, secretary-general of the Association for Protection of the Thai Constitution, revealed he will petition the Election Commission (EC) today to probe and determine if Future Forward Party's leader Thanathorn Chungreunggruangkit violated the electoral law. In the petition, Mr. Srisuwan claimed Mr. Thanathorn violated Section 73(5) of the 2018 organic law on the election of MPs by stating that he is the first politician to transfer shares to a blind trust and to set standards among politicians.
According to Mr. Srisuwan, Thanathorn's remarks have already come in for fierce criticism, with voices from scholars, teachers, the public, the media and politicians. Currently it can be concluded that Mr. Thanathorn's claim of being the first politician to transfer shares to a blind trust is inconsistent with many facts, making him highly suspected of whitewashing the record of himself or the Party through intentionally deceptive or misleading statements.
