BEIJING, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Central China's Hubei province pledged to boost the development of integrated circuit (IC) industry, with an aim to gain revenue of more than 100 billion yuan by 2022, according to Zhang Xinping, deputy director of Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
The province vows to give priority to development of the ten selected major industries to move towards the middle and high end of the value chain, according to a document about industry development released by Hubei Provincial government recently.
Meanwhile, Hubei will strive to develop high-tech industries represented by IC industry, forming industry cluster of chip manufacturing industry.
To be specific, priority will be given to develop memory chips, optical communication chips and satellite navigation chips in the coming four years, added Zhang.
In addition, efforts will also be made to set up special funds and support the development of the ten major industries in Hubei. (Edited by Jiang Feifan)
