BEIJING, March 19 (Xinhua) --- China had issued overall 7.597 billion bank cards by the end of 2018, up 13.51 percent year on year, which means each Chinese person holds about 5.46 cards on average, an increase of 12.91 percent from a year earlier, the People’s Bank of China, China’s central bank, said on Monday.
According to the PBOC, the number of transaction via bank cards soared 40.77 percent to 210.359 billion in 2018.
The total value of transaction amounted to 862.1 trillion yuan last year, up 13.19 percent year on year.
