WEST JAVA, Indonesia -- Skyworth Group, a leading Chinese TV manufacturer unveiled its Southeast Asian manufacturing base in Cikarang of West Java in Indonesia on May 24, marking a new step in its internationalization development.
The Skyworth Southeast Asia Manufacturing Base covers 120,000 square meters, which before was build as Toshiba's TV and washing machine production base for the whole Southeast Asian market, and was acquired by Skyworth in 2015 for 25 million U.S. dollars.
The base is Skyworth's first wholly owned overseas factory, and it will become Skyworth's major production base in Southeast Asian market and a supply chain hub of its overseas operation.
Sun Weizhong, manager in charge of Skyworth's overseas market sales, said Indonesia is the most populous country in Southeast Asia, also a home appliance market with the largest potential in the region. The base will not only enable the company better serve the Indonesian market, but will also help it explore the Southeast Asian market.
Skyworth started to expand business to overseas markets in 2010. It established a subsidiary in Indonesia in 2011. It also has branches in Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines now.
