BEIJING, March 15 (Xinhua) -- South China's Guangdong province will build its first 5G-based demonstration hospital where Internet technology and smart medical service system would be combined for better patient experience and higher service efficiency, according to the report of Science and Technology Daily.
The 5G hospital will be set up jointly by Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, China Mobile Group Guangdong Co., Ltd. (Guangdong Mobile), and the tech giant Huawei, according to a cooperation agreement signed by the three sides on March 9.
The three parties will apply information technologies such as 5G, Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing in the new hospital and establish a dedicated joint team.
Guangdong Mobile will provide services like remote video diagnosis and treatment, mobile emergency treatment, and smart diagnosis based on big data and AI for the 5G hospital, according to the agreement.
Huawei, with advantages in chip development and design, simplified network, AI and materials, will build 5G application model projects for the smart hospital, said the agreement. (Edited by Su Dan)
