BEIJING, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Dalian city in northeast China's Liaoning province recently rolled out an implementation plan on advancing Belt and Road (B&R) construction in 2021 to 2030, aiming at building an open economy and cement connection with economies in northeast Asia as well as countries and regions along the B&R routes, according to a local newspaper of Liaoning.
To achieve these objectives, Dalian will step up efforts in infrastructure interconnection, international production and sci-tech cooperation, trade upgrading, and construction of free trade zone, according to the new plan.
In terms of infrastructure interconnection, the city will push ahead construction of an international shipping and logistics center for northeast Asia, strike Liaoning-Manzhouli-Europe corridor into the main channel of China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor, and improve construction of road transport channels between China and Russia.
In the field of international production cooperation, Dalian will shore up cooperation with countries and regions along the B&R routes in key equipment manufacturing industries such as machine tools, petrochemicals, and nuclear power, support enterprises to engage in B&R countries' and regions' key projects involving industrial parks, ports, roads, electricity, and environmental protection.
Dalian will also deepen science and technology cooperation with Japan, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Israel and other countries to strengthen its innovation capacity, and encourage competitive enterprises to set up research and development centers abroad.
With regard to trade, the city will carry forward its trade transformation and upgrading, build an international trade center, accelerate construction of a cross-border e-commerce pilot zone, and boost market cooperation and technology resources sharing with countries and regions along the B&R routes.
Also, Dalian will expand international financial cooperation, and enhance people-to-people as well as cultural exchanges with B&R countries and regions. (Edited by Su Dan)
