BEIJING, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Italy held a promotion conference on Monday in the Xi'an city of northwest China's Shaanxi province to advance economic and trade collaboration with Xi'an and promote the 2019 Italy "One Belt One Road" (OBOR) international cooperation expo and exhibition, or EXCO & OBOR Exhibition 2019.
The exhibition is scheduled to be hosted in Rome from May 15 to 18 by the Italian government. It will serve as a significant platform for China-Italy business cooperation, and for officials from China, the European Commission, the African Union and the United Nations, as well as entrepreneurs, industry representatives and experts to discuss innovation and job creation for sustainable development.
Michele De Gasperis, the founder and president of OBOR Italian Institute or Istituto Italiano OBOR, said at the conference on Monday that he would make efforts to further promote cooperation between Xi'an and Rome for the two sides to share opportunities brought by the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
