BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- China’s mobile phone market has seen a total shipment of 14.511 million in February, down 19.9 percent year on year, according to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), a scientific research institute directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
This included 13.984 million 4G phones, which, down 20.2 percent on year, took up some 96.4 percent of the total February shipment, reported Shanghai Securities News on Tuesday.
Domestic mobile phone shipment went down 15.1 percent on year to 48.559 million during the first two months this year, including 46.338 million 4G phones, down 14 percent on year.
In February, smartphone shipment stood at 13.989 million, down 20.1 percent on year and it took up 96.4 percent share of total mobile shipment. Android phones, particularly, took up 90.9 percent share of smart phone shipment.
Smartphone shipment went down 14.2 percent on year to 46.135 million in the first two months, in which 92.5 percent were Android phones. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
