BISHKEK, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov said on Monday that his country attaches great importance to developing relations with China.
Aidarbekov made the remarks when meeting with China's new Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen, who presented her credentials to the foreign minister on Monday.
Expressing welcome to Du to assume her new post in Kyrgyzstan, the foreign minister said that deepening the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership has always been a foreign policy priority for Kyrgyzstan.
For her part, Du said "China and Kyrgyzstan are good neighbors, good friends and good partners. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 27 years ago, bilateral relations have enjoyed sustained, steady and sound development," according to the Chinese embassy in Kyrgyzstan.
"Both sides have actively carried out pragmatic cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and achieved fruitful results," Du noted.
She assured Aidarbekov she would make every effort to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries during her tenure.
