BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhua) -- China's commercial space launch will remain fruitful in 2019, reported the Xinhua-run Economic Information Daily on Monday quoting China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), a state-owned high-tech enterprise in China.
According to CASC, China's Long March-11 rocket is scheduled to carry out the first sea launch by a carrier rocket in China.
Besides, based on the existing Long March-11 rocket, China plans to develop a commercial rocket with a carrying capacity not exceeding 2 metric tons (tonnes) and a launch price only one-third of the international mainstream launch price, in a bid to tap into the broader commercial market for China's Long March rockets.
To meet the domestic and international commercial needs of launching micro-satellites below 300 kilograms, China also developed a commercial solid carrier rocket named Jielong-1 which can achieve fast launch within 24 hours.
It is reported that the rocket is expected to make its maiden launch in the first half of 2019. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
